This past season, Students Run LA (SRLA) celebrated the incredible power of community, big and small. You helped students overcome challenges, set goals, and achieve incredible accomplishments. Our Impact Report highlights this year’s challenges and accomplishments.
Kimberly Olmedo has been running with Students Run LA (SRLA) for the past 6 years and is a recent graduate of Verdugo Hills High School. Kimberly was awarded the SRLA Scholarship this year and will take her scholarship to Los Angeles Mission College, where she plans on majoring in Communications. One day, Kimberly dreams of becomeing a Sports Commentator/Broadcaster. Kimberly shares her SRLA journey in her own words in this blog post.
Natalia Rodriquez has been running Students Run LA (SRLA) for SIX years and was recently graduated as a Salutatorian for her high school, Woodrow Wilson. Natalia was also awarded the SRLA Scholarship this year and will take her scholarship to Stanford University, where she will major in Political Science and International Relations. Eva Mendoza has completed three seasons with Students Run LA (SRLA) and is a recent graduate of Synergy Quantum Academy High School. Eva was also awarded the SRLA Scholarship this year and will take her scholarship to the Vanderbilt University, where she will major in Mechanical Engineering. Kimberly Vallejo, a two-time LA Marathon finisher, has recently graduated from San Fernando High School and was awarded the SRLA Scholarship this year. This scholarship will help fund her academic journey at Carnegie Mellon University, where she plans on studying Electrical and Computer Engineering. Hunter Rosales-Flores, a five-time LA Marathon finisher, has recently graduated from Sotomayor Magnet High School and was awarded the SRLA Scholarship this year.
