Captain Profile: Miller, Building Bonds

Miller is a junior at Monroe Police Academy. This year he is taking on a new role as SRLA captain. He hopes to help his teammates build new bonds and encourage them to improve while training for his second marathon.

What motivated you to join SRLA?

I was motivated to join SRLA again from the development experience I got last year. The motivation and achievement I got was a refreshing remark to do it again.

What motivated you to become an SRLA Captain?

I was motivated to become an SRLA Captain from the encouragement from my group's previous Captain. Mostly, I was dedicated to see what I am capable in a leadership position to assist my whole team runners to a greater achievement.

What has been your biggest challenge so far as Captain? How did you overcome it?

My biggest challenge so far as Captain is the whole social distancing learning. The best way to positively overcome this challenge was to bring to upside and build the bonds within our runners knowing it can be better.

What is one thing you want to accomplish as Captain?

One thing I want to accomplish as Captain is to make sure every runner in my group finish that marathon as it was their only dream.
