Meet T! T is another one of the dedicated individuals that make up that SRLA Alumni Committee. She participated in SRLA at Mt. Gleason Middle School and ran marathons with SRLA every year from 2008 - 2015.

Do you have a favorite SRLA memory?

I do have a lot, but my first marathon was one of the best memories. I had such a great day with one of my friends and we enjoyed the entire race. Another was a few years ago when I was an ambassador for the SRLA alumni race, I was given a special award and it felt really great to be recognized

Do you remember any specific challenges training as a student?

Probably figuring out how to balance school, running, other sports, family life and a social life.

What are you doing now?

At the moment I'm an Assistant Return to Work Coordinator, but working towards becoming a Food Product Developer

What lessons did you learn in SRLA that you still use today?

Time management, discipline and goal setting.

Do you have any advice for current SRLA students, related to life and or running?

It definitely will get hard at times but sticking with the program will help you a lot more than you may realize at the time. Just keep pushing and it will become a very rewarding experience

Do you still run?

Oh yeah!

What was your favorite SRLA race?

If it was races SRLA attended La Puente or the old 15k at Cabrillo Beach. If it is a SRLA put on race I'd say the Summer Kick off race

What did you have to have with you at every race?

My iPod (makes me sound old)

What SRLA gear (if any) do you still have?

I have everything still (besides most shoes)

Is there anything else that you would like to share?

I love the program and hope more people become interested in joining our alumni group.
