Sunday, September 24 at 7:30 am
SRLA Kickoff 5K will start at 7:30am. The race start is on Vista del Mar and will finish inside of the parking lot/event staging area down near the beach. This is an out and back 5K so runners are encouraged to not crowd the start line and to stay to the right on the course (do not cross the center divider) so as not to impede oncoming runners.

Please follow the directions of any posted signs if attempting to park on the street. Vista del Mar will be marked as no parking for the run and cars may be ticketed or towed. Cars will be charged $5 to park at the beach (this is a discounted rate for the event). The event staging and bus parking will be in the third lot. Car parking will be in the first two lots.
Please plan to arrive early, with $5 in hand, as the parking entrance will close once the run begins.
Cars and buses parked inside the beach parking areas will be NOT be allowed to begin departing until 9:30 am NOT BEFORE!
All runners will receive a finisher medal, SRLA shirt, water, and snack. Please pay attention at the t-shirt area, as there will be multiple lines available for this distribution. We ask all runners to be patient as the t-shirt line may be very long, especially as the bulk of SRLA runners are finishing at the same time.
Students Run LA uses the process of training for the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon to teach our students how to set a goal and work hard to complete it. Over the 7-month training period the students learn how to transfer these skills into their education and their lives. This race (and SRLA in general) is not competitive. SRLA’s motto is “complete NOT compete.” So there will be no overall or age group awards for this race.
SRLA Cares: Every Penny Counts!
SRLA Cares is encouraging all runners to collect pennies in support of United Cerebral Palsy Los Angeles, the National Ataxia Foundation, and Hurricane Harvey Relief. All funds collected will benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities and degenerative diseases of the nervous system.
