The 18-Mile Friendship Run is the premier training race for the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon.
The 18-mile course consists of two 9-mile loops starting in Hansen Dam Park. The course travels along streets that are closed to traffic and, then, crosses the two-mile dam. After the second loop, the run finishes in the park. Water stations and toilets will be available throughout the course, except on the dam. Water stations will be located before the dam and after exiting the dam. A course map is available here.
Finish Line Swag
All registered runners will receive an event t-shirt. Finish the race and you’ll get a medal, too! Lots of water on course and great snacks at the finish area! Here’s a sneak peak at the finisher’s medal:

Please plan to arrive by 6:30 am to avoid street closures in preparation for the start of the event.
Cars will enter the park at Dronfield Ave and be directed to make a left at the stop sign. There are two parking lots available for cars.
Bib Pick – Up
The bib pick up will open at 6:30am and is located a short distance from portable toilets and the start line.
SRLA Cares will be collecting pasta to benefit the food bank at M.E.N.D. (Meet Each Need with Dignity). Public runners are encouraged to support this community service project by donating a pound of pasta.
The results will be posted online at http://itzabouttime.com/. Results will not be available at the event. There will be no age group or overall place awards.
We can always use more volunteers. We welcome both students and parents to help out with registration, course support, finish line, and t-shirt distribution. Any interested volunteers should contact Paul at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spectator / Picnic Tips
The park is open to spectators on the day of the event. There are picnic tables in the lower lot and plenty of grass area to meet up after the finish. Picnics and BBQs are allowed, but all food will have to be carried in since the picnic tables are near the staging area and no cars will be allowed past a certain point at the park. We also ask that all food be kept away from the finishing runners and finish line area.Any spectators providing support to the runners along the course or finish line are asked to please pick up all trash before leaving the park/street.
In past years, we have had extreme weather during this event. Be prepared for it to be cool in the morning prior to the start. Please take some time to prepare for the weather. If the weather calls for rain, consider bringing a poncho or trash bag to wear on the run, and a set of dry clothes for the ride home. If the weather is predicted to be warm, running with a hat is recommended.
